Dr Samarth to cycle from India Gate to Zero Mile in 40 hrs

DR AMIT Samarth, ultra cyclist and ‘Bicycle Mayor’ of Nagpur is going to pedal from India Gate (New Delhi) to Zero Mile on November 27 to promote cycling in the region. Indian Oil is the title sponsor for IndianOil XtraGreen Mile by Mile Mission Zero Mile event. “I will be attempting to ride cycle 1035 kms from New Delhi to Nagpur in under 40 hours to create World UltraCycling Association Record,” said Dr Samarth during a presser. It will be non-stop cycling from New Delhi to Nagpur without any sleep breaks. “The only time I would take a break will be to change clothes or my cycle,” Dr Samarth, Director of Miles and Milers, informed. Dr Samarth will be fund-raising for India Pedals Cycling City Project to generate funds to be utilised on creating cycling culture. “Dr Samarth will be crewed and navigated by highly trained crew members which include Mukul Samarth, Milind Pariwakam, Sheetal Kolhe, Bhushan Deosarkar, Vivitt Walve, Adwait Yamsamwar, Dr Rajasi Sengupta, Arushi Nayak, Dr Sudhir Baldota, Bhavesh Patre, Vishwas Naitam, Dilip Warkad,” Jeetendra Nayak, Ride Director, who has been his crew chief in Race Across America, Red Bull Trans Siberian Extreme and Ride Across India, said. Dr Samarth has already created World UltraCycling Record by cycling 6000 kms on the Golden Quadrilateral Highway in 13 days 9 hrs and 50 mins and had also raised Rs nine lakh for Lok Biradari Prakalp headed by Padmashri Dr Prakash Amte.
