Illegal construction of a land mafia amounting to Rs 1 crore was demolished to free Government land worth Rs 5 crore in Amkhera Kudwari area under the jurisdiction of Gohalpur police station, on Sunday. The encroachment was razed in a joint action from the district administration, Police Department and Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC). The encroachment were being done by Haji Irshad who had developed illegal residential colony named Sara Nagar. A combined team of Jabalpur district administration and JMC demolished four houses amounting to Rs 1 crore and freed around 2.5 acres of Government land amounting to Rs 5 crores. It may be noted that under the direction of Madhya Pradesh Government, a special campaign has been started against persons involved in black-marketing, food adulteration, land mafia, chit-fund companies and illegal money launders. Taking a serious note on the complaint, District Magistrate and Collector Karmveer Sharma, Superintendent of Police, Siddharth Bahuguna and JMC Commissioner, Sandeep G R released order for removing encroachment by the habitual criminal.
 
Compliance with the direction, a combine team of District Administration, Police and Jabalpur Municipal Corporation led by senior police and administrative officers reached the spot and razed the illegal construction to evacuate the Government land. In order to avoid any agitation, additional police force was deployed during the demolition work. During the demolition, SDM, Adhartal, Namah Shivay Arjaria, CSP, Gohalpur, Akhilesh Gaur, DSP (AJJAK, Pankaj Mishra, Naib Tehsildar, Sandeep Jaiswal, SHO, Gohalpur, Arvind Choube, SHO, Garha, Rakesh Tiwari, SHO, Madhotal, Rina Pandey Sharma, SHO, Vijay Nagar, Soma Malik, SHO, Ghamapur, GR Chandravanshi, SHO, Belbagh, SL Verma, JMC, Deputy Commissioner, Prafull Shrivastava and anti-encroachment team of JMC were present.
