The Rashtriya Rin Sangoshthi, (national seminar on loan) was organised in Bhopal on Sunday in which State Finance Minister Jagdish Devda and Chief General Manager, NABARD inaugurated the Jawahar Model Research Paper. On the occasion, dignitaries informed that NABARD would help in providing loans to marginal women farmers for doing farming on Jawahar Model designed by Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University (JNKVV) Jabalpur. The dignitaries said that this farming model would help in increasing the income of marginal farmers. A team of senior officials of NABARD, consisting of Chief General Manager, visited JNKVV University to conduct an inspection of Jawahar Model. The team promised to spread Jawahar model in the entire state.

 

Director Research Services JNKVV, Dr. GK Kotu informed that more than 25 varieties of crops are being grown in sack under Jawahar model. This technique of farming will be helpful in areas having barren lands and drainage problem. He added that two PhD students Gopi Anjana and Sahab Kumar Patel, Post Graduate students Sandip Birla, Jethu Bhati and Sakshi Agrawal are conducting research on the model under the guidance of Chief Scientist Moni Thomas and her assistant Dr. Neeraj Tripathi.
