Folk Singer Mame Khan took over the stage on the conclusion ceremony of the biggest art and literature fest, Vishwarang 2021, which was staged on Sunday. He held the audience spellbound with some of his mellifluous tracks such as ‘Kesariya balam padharo’, ‘Chaudhary’, ‘Aawe re hichki’ and ‘Sanu ek pal chain na aawe’. This was followed by Kathak dancer Kshama Malviya’s dance performance in which she was accompanied by 50 dances artistes. Director focuses on inculcating movie watching habits in kids In another session, Sudip Sohni, Co-director of Vishwarang interviewed the screenwriter, actor and director Amole Gupte. Amole Gupte said that he has found his ‘last beach’ – his destiny – among children.

 

He also said, “Item numbers, being made nowadays, are posing adverse effects upon the minds of children. Gupte believes films should be taught as a subject in schools like physics and chemistry.” Movies play vital role in shaping personality In another interview session, Sudip Sohni talked to critically acclaimed screenplay writer and film director Soumitra Ranade. He said that we desperately need platforms like ‘Vishwarang’ as a film can make a huge difference in one’s life. Movies play a vital role in shaping our thinking and our personality. Certain other cultural events marked the end of Vishwarang, to return with some such performances.
