FORMER cricketers and sportspersons paid tributes to ex-Ranji Trophy player Janak Bhatt who passed away recently. The condolence meeting was chaired by his wife Jyoti Bhatt. Bhatt, 64, was a former Ranji Trophy player and VCA Junior selector. Janak played nine matches for Vidarbha during late eighties. Former cricketers including Suhas Phadkar, Hemant Wasu, Vikas Gavte, Rajan Nair, J Rathore, Vikas Shesh, Ramashankar Trivedi, Anil Menon, Shravan Kumar, Ram Nerker and members of various clubs, his banking colleagues attended the meeting and recalled his contribution to sports in general and cricket in particular. Janak’s daughter Archana Walia, son-in-law Raj Walia also attended the meeting and paid their tributes.
