Condemning the State Government for allegedly adopting double standards in matter of reservation for OBC community, which is under consideration with the High Court, a number of representatives of the OBC community including OBC Mahasabha Madhya Pradesh, Akhil Bharatiya OBC Mahasabha, Bhim Army and others staged a protest in Civic Centre on Monday. The police personnel used mild lathi charge to drive away the protestors. The representatives of OBC community have put forth several demands pertaining to the community. The demands include provision of 27 percent reservation in teachers’ recruitment.
 
They have demanded that scholarship of Rs. 120 crore for OBC students should be resumed immediately. They want that 27 reservation should be made for OBC community in Gram Panchayat, Nagar Panchayat, District Panchayat and Municipal Corporation elections. Further, they have demanded that caste-based consensus should be conducted of general community and OBC community separately. The Mahasabha office bearers demanded that the Forest Right Act should be implemented immediately. They also demanded MSP for agricultural products and interview process in competitive exams should be cancelled.
 
Thereafter, office-bearers of the Mahasabha submitted a memorandum, designated to the Chief Minister, to a senior administrative officer. The representatives have condemned lathi charge and warned that a massive protest will be held collectively in the State if their demands are not fulfilled early. Those participated in the protest were Indrakumar Patel, Ramratan Yadav, Baijnath Kushwaha, Ram Singh Patel, Deepak Yadav, Santhram Kachhi, Naresh Chakraburty and others.
