Renowned Snooker and Billiards Player Pankaj Advani, also known as the Golden Boy of India, has continued his winning streak by acing the first match of the 88th Billiards and Snookers Championship ongoing at Sage University, Bhopal. The event is being held under the joint aegis of Billiards and Snookers Federation of India (BSFI) and MP Billiards and Snookers Association. Notably, Advani has recently named the 24th World Title after him, held in Doha and won the first match of the 88th Billiards and Snookers Championship after defeating Santosh in a pulsating match. In a conference held with media-persons at Tatya Tope Stadium on Tuesday, Advani revealed that he is visiting Bhopal after 15 years.
 
He felt elated while announcing that his long-standing friend, Kamal Chawla is also accompanying him in this tournament. Notably, Chawla is a city-famous Snooker player who has gained numerous accolades to fetch multiple National and International medals in the sport. During the conference, Advani reflected on his last visit to Bhopal and stated that he felt grateful towards Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia who had invited him to inaugurate Snooker tables at Government Schools and teach the intricacies of the sport to the children of the school. Taking over the stage, Kamal Chawla said that it is an honor for him to host the Billiards event in which his friend Pankaj Advani is participating. He added that he faced Pankaj many a time at the earlier championship matches but this did not take a toll on their friendship at all. Towards the end of the conference, Chawla bade the vote of thanks to Madhya Pradesh Sports Government and Sports University for hosting the 88th National Billiards Championship.
