Raisen, Hoshangabad teams shine in Hockey championship

The Raisen Feeder Center emerged as the champion in the girl’s category, while Hoshangabad was crowned the champion in boy’s category at the Inter-feeder Center Hockey Tournament organised in State Capital. A Central Zone level hockey competition was organised under the aegis of Sports and Youth Welfare Department at Major Dhyanchand ground located in Bhopal, in which the Bhopal, Betul, Sehore, Hoshangabad and Raisen teams participated. In the girl’s category, the final face-off was played between Betul and Raisen teams, in which the Raisen team became victorious by 3-0. In the 13th minute of the aforementioned match, Raisen's Muskan Sirvaiya took the lead by scoring a field goal, while in the 26th minute of the second quarter, Raisen team’s captain and best player of the tournament, Pooja Kori scored the second goal for the team.
 
Raisen lead by 2-0 till half time. In the fourth quarter, Raisen's players thwarted the aggressive attacks of Betul hockey players and in the 51st minute of the game, Bhagyashree Lodhi from Raisen team scored a goal to lift the winning title. In the final of the boys category, Hoshangabad defeated Raisen by 3-1 to claim the title. Aggressive hockey play was witnessed in the match. In the last minute of the match, Raisen's captain Shukla hit the goal post to return. The decision of the match was drawn through a penalty shoot-out, in which Hoshangabad defeated Raisen by 3–1. At the concluding ceremony of the hockey competition, the Chief Guest, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramji Srivastava distributed the prizes. On this occasion, Deputy Director Sports, Jose Chacko, District Sports Officer of Raisen, Jalaj Chaturvedi, DSO of Hoshangabad, Uma Patel and Mohammad Yusuf Imtiazuddin were present.
