Seven arrested for assaulting liquor shop employees

Vidhan Sabha Police on Thursday apprehended seven men accused of assaulting employees of Saddu Liquor Shop after an employee refused to sell them liquor after the closing time. The incident happened at shop closing time at 10 pm on Wednesday. According to the complainant Mithun Bagh, on Wednesday night when the shop was about to be closed, one Sahdev Soni forcefully barged into the shop, asking for liquor. But when the salesman refused to sell the liquor citing the shop’s closing time, Sahdev went and returned with his brother Ravi Soni, Ghanshyam Soni, Somnath Soni and friends Rohit Sagar, Ram Sona and Mithlesh Vishwakarma.
 
They attacked shop’s staffers B Kishan Rao and Devendra Pathak with some sharp-edged weapon and also pummeled them merciless with sticks, roads kicks/punches. Devendra Pathak, B Kishan Rao and Devendra’s elder brother Aishwarya Pathak, who came to break-off the fight, also sustained injuries. The accused men threatened to kill Devendra Kishan Rao and Aishwarya. A report was registered against them under Section 147, 148, 294, 323, 327, 458 and 506 of Indian Penal Code. In a swift action, Police arrested seven men as Sahdev Soni, Ravi Soni, Ghanshyam Soni, Somnath Soni, residents of BSUP Colony Khalbada Saddu, and Rohit Sagar, resident of Fafadih near over-bridge, Ram Sona, resident of Khalbada Saddu, and Mithlesh Kumar Vishwakarma, resident of Saddu Khalbada. Police crack liquor shop burglary case Amanaka Police claimed to have cracked the liquor shop burglary case with the arrest of an accused on Thursday. The theft accused used to work as a guard at the liquor shop in the past. Hirapur English Premium Liquor Shop in-charge supervisor Sawan Kumar Yadav reported at Amanaka Police Station that he had kept Rs 215910 in the locker after the day’s sales on December 7.
 
The next day when he came to shop, Yadav found the locks at shop’s shutter broken. Inside the shop, the locker was also broken and the cash was missing. Some unidentified thief had stolen the cash along with CCTV Camera and DVR system. On his complaint, Amanaka Police had registered a case under Section 457 and 380 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and launched investigation. The police interrogated the shop’s present and previous employees. Officials also collected CCTV camera recordings from surrounding areas. During the course of investigation, police found out about Kaleshwar Prasad Sahu, who had left the job of guard at the shop two months ago. He was seen suspiciously roaming around the shop a night before the theft. Kaleshwar Prasad Sahu is resident of Seepat Bilaspur district. A police team rounded him up from his home and he confessed to the crime later. Police also recovered cash Rs 2,07,000 and a bottle of English liquor.
