International conference of IIIT-Naya Raipur inaugurated

The first international conference of IIIT-Naya Raipur on ‘Technology, Research, and Innovation for Betterment of Society (TRIBES – 2021)’ was inaugurated on December 17. The three-daylong conference was inaugurated by the chief guest professor Geetam Singh Tomar, chairman of IEEE Madhya Pradesh Section and director, Government Engineering College, Sonbhadra (UP). The conference is being conducted in hybrid mode. Several academicians and researchers participated in the inaugural session in online mode, while the director, faculty members, research scholars, staff members and the students of IIIT-NR registered their participation physically. Addressing the gathering, Director of IIIT-NR Dr Pradeep Sinha elaborated on the genesis of the idea of starting a conference by IIIT-NR and mentioned that it is in-line with the institute’s research vision to become “A Living Research Laboratory for Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development”.
 
Dr Geetam Singh Tomar congratulated the institute for organising the first IEEE conference in the state and presented a proposal for making IEEE Chhattisgarh Sub-section and asked Dr Sinha to lead it. He assured to provide all the basic help which would be needed in executing the idea. He also suggested the institute set up an extra cell in which research on locally available resources could be done. Special guest of the programme professor D K Mishra, director of Microsoft Innovation Centre, Sri Aurobindo Institute of Technology, Indore, congratulated the institute and the faculty members for holding the first ever international conference of IEEE and wished luck to all the researchers who were going to present their paper.
 
On the occasion, Dr Manoj Kumar Majumder presented a brief about the conference. He informed that the acceptance ratio of the paper presented is 33.3 percent. He informed that 67 papers will be presented in 18 sessions under 54 session chairs. All the esteemed faculty and staff members, PhD scholars, and technical Assistants will coordinate the whole presentation through parallel channels of Cisco Webex. One of the TRIBES coordinators Dr Vivek Tiwari expressed his gratitude to all the IEEE coordinators in different positions for supporting the conference as a flagship conference.
