A 15 days workshop on ‘Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System’ was organised by Department of Geography and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government J Yoganandam Chhattisgarh College at the college campus recently. Course Coordinator Dr Geeta Rai informed that Remote Sensing and GIS is a well established and important technique now-a-days. The course was designed to enable the participants with basic knowledge of Remote Sensing and its applications.
 
Fourteen lectures and two practical sessions were conducted by the resource persons. More than 90 participants from Government J Yoganandam Chhattisgarh, Mahant College and Government D B Girls College attended the workshop. Assessment of the participants was conducted after the completion of the course. Principal of Government J Yoganandam Chhattisgarh Dr Amitabh Banerjee was the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the workshop. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr Banerjee congratulated the participants. He motivated the participants to work hard. The participants were honoured with certificate by the Chief guest. Head of Department of Geography Dr T L Verma, Convener Dr Kirti tiwari, IQAC In-charge Dr Anita Juneja, Dr Shilpi Bose and others were present on the occasion.
