GRANDMASTER Debasis Das, national rapid champion and International Master (IM) Anwesh Upadhayaya, IM Sammed Shete, IM Ravi Teja S, national Under-17 champion IM Neelash Saha, IM Kushager Krishnater, IM Harikrishnan A and FIDE Masters Sauravh Kherdekar, Akash Thakur, Suyog Wagh, Senthil Maran, Sohan Phadke, Women’s FIDE Master Srishti Pandey, Candidate Master Kushagra Mohan are among the prominent players who have confirmed their participation in the 2nd GH Raisoni Memorial All India FIDE Rapid and Blitz Rating Tournament. Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation will be organising mega event on December 4 and 5 at GH Raisoni Institute of Engineering & Technology, Shraddha Park, Near MIDC Police Station, Hingna-Wadi Link Road, Nagpur. More than 300 players in rapid and more than 250 players in blitz format from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Delhi, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and Maharashtra are participating in the tournament. It gives a huge opportunity for players from all over India to get International Rating in rapid and blitz formats. MLA Parinay Fuke, President, Maharashtra Chess Association and former MP Ajay Sancheti will inaugurate the event on December 4 at 9:00 am and will be followed by first round of rapid tournament. Nishant Gandhi, President, Chess Association Nagpur, SS Soman, Tournament Committee Member (MCA) will be guests of honour. Prizes will be distributed at the hands of Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari, MLA Girish Vyas, Vice-President, Maharashtra Chess Association and Dr Vivek Kapur, Director, GHRIET. Bhushan Shriwas, Secretary, Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation is Organising Chairman. He is working hard for success of the tournament. Dr Mrinalini Naik, Project Head and Amit Gandhare of Raisoni Group have extended their co-operation for the tournament. A recognised team of Arbiters headed by International Arbiter Promodraj Moree will conduct and monitor the tournament.
