Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramoday Vishwavidalaya’s newly-appointed Vice-Chancellor Prof Bharat Mishra assumed charge as Vice-Chancellor at the VC office at University. Outgoing Vice-Chancellor Prof Naresh Chandra Gautam welcomed the new VC Prof Mishra and congratulated him on his appointment. He expressed hope that young VC would be successful in realisation of the dreams of Late Nanaji Deshmukh for ‘Gramoday’. He handed over charge to Prof Mishra and welcomed him by presenting shawl, shreephal. After assuming charge, new VC Prof Mishra visited his native department i.e Physics department and started his day by taking classes of Physics and IT. Throughput the day, he accepted the congratulatory wishes and expressed his commitment towards realisation of concept of ‘Gramoday’. Prior to it, Prof Bharat Mishra arrived at Chitrakoot from Bhopal with his appointment letter issued by Governor office, Bhopal.
 
He was accorded grand welcome by University employees and officers. At the University gate, students also welcomed him and presented him bouquets. Then he paid floral tributes before statue of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Bharat Ratan Rashtrarishi Nanaji Deshmukh. Then he arrived at VC office and assumed his charge. The new VC Prof Mishra is a resident of Amilika village of Rewa district. He has M.Sc in Physics from Model Science College, Rewa with specialisation in Electronics. He was conferred doctorate from MGCGVV. He was founder members of starting BSc (IT) courses in University. He was also Nodal Officer of IT Incharge Director of Community College Scheme and M.P Online. He has written many books and many research scholars completed their doctorate under his guidance.
