Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) Mayor Aijaz Dhebar will inaugurate ‘No Polythene’ drive with fabric bags at Shastri Market on December 23. Mayor Dhebar made the announcement while congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching of Rashtriya Swacchta Survekshan Corporators and discussed strategies for making Raipur no-1 in Swacchta Ranking-2022 with the Corporators. Mayor Dhebar said if the Corporators decide no one can throw garbage at public places. Mayor Dhebar also congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for carrying out National Swacchta Surv\ekshan and appealed Corporators to get on with the task to achieve no-1 clean city status. He said Corporators need to create awareness among people for separation of wet and dry waste and to connect people to a grand rally scheduled to be taken out from Marine Drive Telibandha at 8 am on January 8, 2022. Mayor urged Corporators to show up at Shastri Market with fabric bags to buy vegetables on December 23.

 

Dhebar also announced a competition between all 70 wards to pick top-three wards. These top three wards will be selected by Mayor, Speaker, Leader of Opposition, Health Department In-charge, ruling/opposition/independent corporators. He also appealed Corporators to clean up statues of great personalities at their wards on 25th of each ward. On the occasion, SUDA Mission manager Siddhartha Sao informed about Swacchta Survekshan-2022. The programme was coordinated by Health Officer Vijay Pandey and Additional Commissioner Sunil Chandrawanshi proposed a vote of thanks. The programme also had the presence of Dr Tripti Panigrahi and Swacch Bharat Mission Executive Engineer Radhumani Pradhan.
