A grand Christmas celebration was held in campus of St Joseph Co-ed School on Wednesday. The newly-installed Archbishop of Bhopal, Dr A A S Durairaj was welcomed in school during the occasion. After formal inauguration and lamp lighting, prayer was held for peace across the globe. Under cultural activities, students presented fusion of Bharatnattayam and Kathak dance in traditional attire. Archbishop distributed blankets to the poor. Students from KG section presented dance on English song and primary wing presented attractive dance performance. Santa Clause also reached to the programme and distributed toffees and chocolates to the children. Christmas cake was also cut during the programme. In the meantime, all churches of Bhopal have started illuminating in colourful lights to mark the birth of Jesus Christ on December 25. Preparation is in final stage everywhere. Christmas trees have been decorated with tinsels and cribs at the Church premises for the big day.
 
Pre-celebration party has been started at several places in city. Officials of Archdiocese of Bhopal informed that decorations are almost completed and final touch is being given for the celebration. Missionary schools have declared winter holidays for students till January 3. All schools have concluded there PT3 exams and declared winter vacation from December 23 to January 2. Pre-Christmas celebration would begin at all churches and city corners from December 23. Bakers have started making delicious cakes to make Christmas merrier. This year theme based cakes have been ordered by people. Many people have started decoration at their house and cooking bakery items to mark the occasion. Apart from all these, children are excited much to get surprise gift from Santa Clause at midnight.
