Cages installed to rescue leopard active around Kolar

After confirming the movement of leopard in Kolar area of Bhopal, cages have been installed around Swarn Jayanti Park by Van Vihar National Park to rescue the animal. Forest team search for the suspected animal on Saturday where pug marks of leopard was found in the Swarn Jayanti Park. Officials said that leopard might be entered to the park while following a pig or dog after crossing the Kaliyasot river. Forest has installed cage in the park and also tied a goat to lure the animal. A team is monitoring the cage for 24x7 hours. District Forest Officer (DFO) Alok Pathak said, “team is keeping an eye on leopard’s movement. Residents of nearby areas have been asked to be alert. Efforts are being made to rescue the leopard at earliest.”
 
He further informed that the park is spread over 100 acre of land. He said mre than 20,000 people reside in Sarv Dharm Colony and nearby areas. People are now scared of the news. Locals are scared that leopard might to be entering to their home after jumping of the net. A team of 25 forest officials have been assigned to rescue the leopard for safety of locals. The leopard has entered to the park on Friday (December 24) night. After news went viral on Saturday, forest team stopped entry of people in the park and stated search of the animal. On Saturday evening hours, pug marks of the leopard confirmed its movement and then cages were installed.
