Heavy rain with hailstones and cold breeze in city has brought difficulties for the people staging dharna for their demands in state capital on Wednesday. Shivering in cold the protestors spent night with great difficulties as it rained all through the night. Four different groups of people were observing dharna under different banners. While talking to The Hitavada, Madhuri Mirge, State President of Panchayat Shikshak Anukampa Sangh informed that they had horrific experience on intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday due to unexpected rains coupled with hailstones and cold breeze. The plastic they used over the tent was filled with water during rain and at midnight the entire rain water came over the protesters.

 

They were not at all prepared for the rain and the food they prepared was all spoiled. They have been staging dharna since 6 December for their one point demand of compassionate appointment as Shiksha Karmis. She further informed that Priyanka Mishra a protestor has started fast unto death since 23 December. From July 21 they staged protest for 58 days, during which Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel formed a committee to resolve their grievances and on his assurance dharna was called off after 58 days. The committee was supposed to submit report in a month. After three months the report has not been submitted by the committee due to which their demands remained unfulfilled. She has appealed Chief Minister to seriously look into the matter and give them relief. Under the banner of Chhattisgarh Prashikshit Gausewa PAIW Maitri Sangh people staging dharna at the site were also facing similar problems. Lakhanlal Patel of Korba district informed that last night they had no dry place to sit.

They have two point demands for fixation of monthly salary and second merger with Animal Husbandry department. They informed that they carry out vaccination in veterinary department, they perform artificial insemination in animals and take part in various works of Gauthan and promote government schemes. Since 3 December they have been staging dharna and till date state government has not paid attention to their grievances. Another group of protestors from Chhattisgarh Anshkalin School Safai Karmachari Kalyan Sangh took out rally and were going to gheroa the CM house. But the police stopped them near Sapre school ground and the protestors sat there and staged dharna for their two point demands of regularization and wage increment.
