704 quintals of illegally stocked paddy seized

IN compliance with the instructions of Collector P S Elma, a joint team of district administration raided suspected places in the village Leelar and Chhati of the district and found a huge quantity of paddy being stocked illegally. The team seized 704 quintal paddy being stocked illegally and took necessary action under the Mandi Act. Following the instructions of Collector P S Alma, continuous actions are being taken by the district administration against illegal storage, transportation and sale of paddy in the district. In this regard, a total of 704 quintals of paddy has been recovered by the team in village Leelar and village Chati of the district. SDO (Revenue) Vibhor Agrawal informed that during a raid, a joint team of Food and Revenue department found illegal storage of 554 quintals of paddy in the godown of M/s Balram Sinha Trading Company in village Leelar. He said that for the procurement of the paddy and non-maintenance of the stock register, the paddy was seized and a fine was imposed on the company owner under relevant sections of the Mandi Act. He added that in village Chhati, they found 150 quintals of paddy being stocked illegally at the godowns of Keshav Yadu, Ishwar Chandrakar and Dushyant Meshpal. Deputy Collector Arpita Pathak, Food Inspector Naresh Pipre and others were part of the action.
