Four arrested for assault on family of Ranji player

FOUR accused have been arrested in connection with the brutal assault on family members of Ranji Trophy player Amit Mishra. The arrest was made after two days of the incident occured under Sarkanda Police station limits. During interrogations, all the accused confessed to their crime. An offence has been registered against them and further investigations are in progress. It needs to be recalled here the incident took place on Monday evening when about half-a-dozen family members of Ranji Trophy cricketer Amit Mishra sustained gave injuries after their neighbour Gangadhar Mishra (51), son of Loknath Mishra, his sons Sanjay Mishra (28) and Santosh Mishra (26), relative Nathulal Mishra (45), son of Shaitanilal Mishra and others, all armed to teeth, stormed the house and made a deadly assault on them. Meanwhile the cricketer, who was in Ahmedabad Camp giving trials for the upcoming tournaments instantly after getting the information returned home to meet his family. He informed police that the accused family had been after them since long time, however, despite repeated complaints, no action was taken against them by the police.
 
The cricketer said that in the attack his wife Alka Mishra, father Chandrika Prasad Mishra, mother Shashi Mishra, sister in-law Pratibha Mishra, nephew Hitesh Mishra and sister Manju Dewangan sustained grave injuries and had been admitted to the Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) where their condition was critical according to the doctors. With the condition of his nephew, Hitesh Mishra deteriorating gradually, he has been referred to Apollo Hospitals where he is battling for life. Amit Mishra’s injured mother in her statement to police said that her daughter in-law Pratibha Mishra, who is pregnant, was kicked brutally on her stomach by the accused. She also received grave injuries on her head and is currently admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) thriving to survive.
 
She said that Gangadhar Mishra and his family often disposed wastes in front of their house and when they objected to this, his sons passed dire consequences to them. Sarkanda Police Station House Officer (SHO) Parivesh Tiwari informed that they have arrested Gangadhar Mishra, his sons Sanjay Mishra and Santosh Mishra and relative Nathulal Mishra who confessed their crime during interrogations. Police have registered an offence against all the accused involved in the crime and started further investigations.
