RCOEM achieves fourth position in Swadeshi Microprocessor Challenge

SpectroProcessor team of Centre for Microsystem of Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering, Nagpur (RCOEM) secured 4th position in the ‘Swadeshi Microprocessor Challenge - Innovate Solutions for #AatmaNirbhar Bharat’ an initiative by MeitY, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology held as a part of Azadi Ka Digital Mahotsav celebrations. Ajay Sawhney, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology on Friday felicitated the SpectroProcessor team and awarded with Rs 20 lakh and 12-month incubation support. The team consists of Sangeeta Palekar Sammanwar, Research Scholar, Electronics Engineering Department, faculty mentors Dr Jayu Kalambe (RCOEM, Nagpur) and Dr Rajendra Patrikar (VNIT, Nagpur).
 
The research interns team consisting of Rashmi Rathor, Rishabh Sharma, Ravish Dhawan, Huzefa Essaji of Centre for Microsystem worked hard for the development of the POC. The team is working on the project titled “Design and Development of SpectroProcessor for Biomedical Applications”. The project focuses on the development of a fully indigenous blood analysis platform around Swadeshi Shakti processor and overcomes the hardware dependency of existing instruments by providing software-based solutions. The team has presented the startup innovation idea at Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi from December 1 to 3. On August 18, 2020, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) had launched the “Swadeshi Microprocessor Challenge. A total of 6,170 teams participated in the quarterfinals. For the semifinals, only 100 teams got shortlisted and all of them received Rs 1 lakh each.
