Competing in the 57-60 kg weight category, Shruti Zade of CP and Berar college won a gold medal. Shruti won the yellow metal outpunching Nabira Mahavidyalaya’s Sneha Waney in the summit clash. By virtue of her gold, Shruti booked a place in the All India Inter-University Boxing Championship. Shruti’s college-mate Saurabh Sonawane had to be satisfied with a bronze medal as he injured his shoulders during a bout. Principal Dr Milind Barahate, Vice-Principal Dr JK Mahajan, Head of the Physical Education Department Dr Nishant Tipte, members of teaching and non-teaching staff congratulated the duo.
