After the possible third wave of Omicron variant of Covid-19, screening and testing of passengers at railway stations has been increased. Team has been deployed at both platform no 1 and 5 of Rani Kamlapati Railway station in three different shifts. The team is specially focusing on passengers coming from other states. Officials said that in lack of cooperation from passengers, the 3T (track, test and treat) policy seem to be failing. They said many people are avoiding the screening and looking for another gate to exit. Many people have been found making excuse to escape from testing. Though railway has tightened the security provisions at Bhopal and Rani Kamlapati railway station, people are yet to follow the guidelines. Apart from passenger co0ming from other state, general people entering the station are also being screened at entry and exit gate.

While some people say that they are fully vaccinated, some people make excuse that they do not have time. There are many cases in which passengers started making argument with the team. Taking advantage of the argument, other passengers easily pass on the area and exit from station without screening. There are many people still roaming around the platforms without mask covering their nose and mouth. Many people keep the mask tied on their chin and when they see checking team, they keep their mask up for few minutes. However people have their own excuse that they are not able to breathe properly in mask. For past one week, Covid-19 cases increasing in Bhopal. Concerned over the issue, district administration has also put the team on alert. All passengers arriving and departing from railway station are being screened. Officials have been asked to close extra gates of railway station to avoid unnecessary entrance of people. They have been asked to allow entry and exit of passengers from fixed path so that all people can be screened.
