GREEN Army, an organisation creating awareness and raising the issues on conservation of environment has been embarked on Mission 2022 - Polythene Free Raipur. Main objective under the mission is to create public awareness among the public in market place, beating of traditional drums (Nagada) to attraction attention on the sensitive issue, take out rallies, pledge campaign and training programme among the school and college going students, regular meetings with the trading community and the Municipal Corporation officials, submitting of memorandum frequently to the public representatives, adding house wives to the campaign along with distribution of stickers and environment friendly bags. In the ongoing series of initiatives under the campaign, the Green Army is on ‘Satyagrah’ each day from December 6 - 5pm to 7pm at Dharna Sthal, Budhapara in Raipur demanding banning use of polythene.
 
Founder of the organisation Amitabh Dubey said that rules and regulations are simply meant for record on papers, while it is a matter of great concern that mainly large quantity of polythene-based garbage are the common factor of pollution across the Raipur city. All market places and shops are the major medium of polythene related pollution and a part of the routine lifestyle of all section of the society. Thus, to raise the issue of avoiding use of polythene and creating awareness among the general public, the members of Green Army along with supportersare on a Satyagrah under the banyan tree at Dharna Sthal daily from 5 pm to 7 pm.
