Irked over pursuing paramedical programme in the same class for past three years, students demonstrated and staged protest in Bhopal on Tuesday. Demonstrating students said that they are going to stage hunger strike soon. To highlight their demand, students have sent five thousand letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. They sent the letter from speed post office to CM house. Students said that they are paying for the fault of university. A plea has been also filed in the court where the court asked Government to respond over the matter by December 17. Around 20,000 students of paramedical programme have not been given general promotion yet.

One of the demonstrating students Gulsan Rai said, “I took admission during year 2019 and after that Covid-19 outbreak caused havoc in the country. For the past three years we are studying in the same class as there is no exam or general promotion yet. Exam schedule has been declared by the college management for several times but exam could not be held. Nursing students have been given general promotion so we are also demanding general promotion to pass the course.” Main demand of the paramedical students are to reward internal evaluation to 2019-20 first, second and third year students, general promotion, online or open book exam.

They said there is no use of conducting offline exam after three years of admission. Last week too paramedical students staged protest at Mata Mandir square and entered to Medical Education Department all of sudden. Officials alleged that few students have also broken the furniture in office. Scared with the incident office staff closed themselves inside the room and after few minutes, police team was called on the spot. Later five student representatives met with the registrar Dr Puja Shukla to discuss the matter. Students were rigid towards their demand and demanded Dr Shukla to sign their demand letter on spot. After several efforts, demonstrating students left the department but they continued their protest outside of building.
