An athlete couple in the city, Preeti Mishra and Sanjay Mishra exhibited stellar performances at the State Masters Athletics Championship, which was organised at the BHEL-located CISF Athletics track on Tuesday. Where on one hand, the state-famous skating coach Sanjay Mishra bagged a silver medal in long jump and a bronze medal at the 200-meter race in the championship, his wife Preeti Mishra captured a gold medal in the 400-m and 800-m running event. Notably, the couple takes active part in the cycle race rally and Marathon race, which is organised from time-to-time in state capital.

 

Nearly 500 athletes from the state took part in this championship, among whom, the ones who fared well will take part in the National Masters Athletics Championship, slated to take place in the upcoming month. Towards the end of the championship, Assistant Director, Madhya Pradesh Youth Welfare Department, Jose Chacko and Vice President, Athletics Federation of India, Mumtaz Khan, distributed and honored the winners in the presence of Secretary, Madhya Pradesh Master Athletics Association, PK Samuel.
