Professor Dr Kamlesh Jain and Professor Dr Nirmal Verma of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College (PtJNMMC) were felicitated during 8th Indian Association of Preventive and Social Convention of South Central Zone held at Bhopal recently. Professor Dr Nirmal Verma was given life time achievement award. The function was organised in premises of LN Medical and Research Institution Bhopal. Dr Kamlesh Jain awarded with Dr MC Mittal Award for commendable service in the field of medical. Public health expert Late Dr M C Mittal and Late Dr VB Saxena Awards were distributed as life time achievement award to eligible subject experts.

 

During convention, subject experts expressed their views on burning issues and research papers were also presented. Total of nine research papers were presented by PG students and Medical Teachers of PtJNMMC. Public Health and Community Medicine departments subject experts, central and state government officials, medical teachers from MP and Chhattisgarh were also present. Dr Jain is presently State Nodal Officer for Tobacco control programme at Directorate of Health Services Chhattisgarh. He gave lecture on empowerment policy for controlling tobacco and appealed all members of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine to work in this direction.
