The science council of Gurukul Mahila Mahavidyalaya (GMM) on Wednesday organised a symposium on ‘Importance of Biology’ for the students. On the occasion, assistant professor of Chhattisgarh College Parmeet Dubey addressed the symposium and highlighted the utilisation as well as future possibilities of zoology in daily routine to the students. Meanwhile, clay models highlighting details about paramecium, lifecycle of a bee as well as silkworm, DNA, heart, animal cell and others were put on display.
 
According to the information received, the model of plant and animal cell was adjudged as first in BSc first year category while respiratory system and heart bagged second and third place respectively. Similarly in the BSc second year category, the model of beekeeping was marked as first and the model of lifecycle was in second place. The first place in BSc third year category was bagged by the model of lifecycle of bee while second by the lifecycle of silkworm.
