Severe cold grips city, mercury to go up after two days

State Capital Bhopal is experiencing severe cold wave on Sunday, the day as well as night temperature dipped sharply. The spine chilling cold would continue for at least two more days. Weather department said that there may be some respite from the cold after two days. Minimum temperature was recorded in Umaria as 2 degree Celsius. Mandla, Narisnghpur, Tikamgarh and Khandwa districts witnessed the coldest day.
 
Cold waves were also experienced in Seoni, Rewa, Satna, Umaria, Chindwara, Jabalpur, Mandla, Khajuraho, Nawgaon, Damoh, Hoshangabad, Bhopal, Raisen, Khandwa, Ratlam and Ujjain. There were no major changes in minimum temperature of districts. Weather department has forecasted coldest day in Mandla, Narsinghpur and Tikamgarh districts for February 1.
 
Warning for cold day has been issued for Monday in Rewa, Satna, Shahdol, Umaria, Chindwara, Mandla, Damoh, Chatarpur, Tikamgarh, Raisen, Hoshangabad, Khandwa, Ratlam, Ujjain, Shajapur, Guna and Datia. Weather department has released yellow alert in these districts and asked the old age people and children to avoid stepping out of home. The department has forecasted that temperature would be rising from February 2 and 3. For Bhopal weather department has expected maximum and minimum temperature as 26 degree Celsius and 8 degree Celsius with 12 mph winds.
