31st State-level Canoe Sprint C’ship: Bhopal bags 2 silver, 3 bronze medals

Bhopal bagged four medals including two silver and three bronze on the inaugural day of the 31st State-level Canoe Sprint Championship 2021 held at lower lake in Bhopal on Wednesday. Both senior and junior players have taken part in the championship organised by Madhya Pradesh Association of Kayaking and Canoeing.
 
The championship was inaugurated at the hands of Deputy DG, MPCG NCC, Om Prakash Sharma and Brigadier Ashwani Nair. On day-1 of the championship, 1000 metre, 500 metre and 200 metre competitions were held. Bhopal’s Pawan and Aditya finished second in the Senior Men K2-1000 metre event and won a silver medal. Similarly, Bhopal’s Ajay Veer finished third in the Senior Men C1-1000 M event and won a bronze medal. In Junior Men K1-500 metre event, Bhopal’s Abhishek Tiwari finished second to win a silver medal and Savita Yadav finished third in the junior women K1-500 metre event and won a bronze medal.
