Jayant Sinha, the Assistant Director of Urban Administration and Development Department, visited various wards of Durg Municipal Corporation (DMC) on Thursday and took stock of the arrangements regarding cleanliness. He instructed the officials to carry out the work under Star Ratings. During this time, he was accompanied by Health Officer Durgesh Gupta and Shekhar Verma and others.
 
It is worth mentioning that under the guidance of Mayor Dheeraj Bakliwal and Commissioner Indrajit Burman, comprehensive cleanliness work is in progress under the city’s Swachhata Sarvekshan 2021. Under this, apart from door to door waste collection, dry and wet waste is being separated and waste management and composting is being done. Assistant Director inspected the cleaning of the large drain in the civil line on Thursday. During this time he instructed the officials to manage the sewage effluent from the drain properly. He also visited SLRM centres and took stock of the waste management process and systems there. He instructed the officials to manage dry and wet waste in a better manner. He also visited toilets under CT PT by visiting various wards and directed to keep cleaning the toilets constantly and also to provide better water supply.
 
Under the process of composting, he inspected the system of composting, vermi manure at Potia. During the tour, he inspected the cleanliness of toilets at Potia Nullah, Indira Market area and gave necessary guidelines to the officials. He instructed to apply iron mesh to collect the effluents flowing in Potia Nullah. In this regard, Commissioner Burman has given strict instructions to all the Sanitary Inspectors, Darogas and Supervisors that no one should be negligent on cleanliness. In case of any problem, inform the health officer immediately. Motivate people to drop garbage and waste in corporation’s garbage collection vehicles and imposing fine if not doing so.
