In yet another action against the Mafia in the State capital, house of two crooks were razed by district administration in Qazi camp area on Wednesday. Habitual offenders Irfan aka Nange and Firoz aka Lotiya, using their clout and terror had built luxurious houses in Qazi camp area. At least 65 criminal cases have been registered against Irfan himself at Nishatpura, Gautam Nagar and Hanumanganj police stations, mostly of burglaries. Meanwhile, 25 cases have been registered against Firoz, who is among city’s notorious robbers.
 
The police had received a complaint that these criminals have constructed houses without valid permissions but by using their power and terror. Due to the fear in the area, the anti-encroachment staff of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation also hesitated to lay hands on them. Irfan is also infamous for running away from police custody. He had escaped from a police van in Nishatpura area when the Crime Branch team was taking him to investigate the incident in connection with a theft. Later, after a lot of struggle, he was arrested again.
 
Heavy police force was deployed on the spot of action to avoid any untoward incident. The anti-encroachment team of Bhopal Municipal Corporation reached there with JCB, concrete cracker, and necessary tools. Tehsildar Devendra Chaudhary told ‘The Hitavada’ that illegal was construction done by Irfan on around 600 sq ft land, which was freed in the action taken.
