NSUI protests over resuming hostel at BU

National Students Union of India (NSUI) students of Barkatullah University (BU) staged protest in the university campus on Thursday demanding reopening of hostels. The protest was held in peaceful way. NSUI said all universities have resumed classroom studies but they are yet to resume hostels. In such circumstances, students residing in other districts or town are facing several inconveniences.
 
They said, even offline exams are scheduled to begin but students have no option to stay in Bhopal. Demonstrators kept day-long fast to register their opposition for closure of hostels. Concerned over the issues, Vice Chancellor RJ Rao interacted with the demonstrating students and assured them to address the demand. VC Rao also written to commissioner, DHE seeking permission to open the hostels.
 
He assured students to reopen hostels and also urged them to break the fast. Ravi Parmar from NSUI said, there are six hostels in BU including three for boys and three for girls but all of them are closed since lock down. He said if their demand would not be approved, wide level of protest will be held across state. While demonstrating, NSUI students prayed before portrait of Mahatma Gandhi to give strength of wise decision to university officials.
