In the wake of rising coronavirus cases in Wardha district, the district administration on Saturday decided to shut down Bor Tiger Reserve for tourists on every Saturday and Sunday, to contain spread of COVID-19. On Friday, the Wardha District administration decided that all schools, colleges, universities, gyms, swimming pools, and cinema halls will remain closed till Monday (February 22) 8 am.

The decision comes as a preventive measure by the administration after the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus has increased in the district. During the lockdown period, all tiger reserves and wildlife sanctuaries in Maharashtra remained closed for over six months. Again the same situation arises in the State. Forest Department has cancelled all on-line bookings for jungle safari for Sunday and Monday as per the orders issued by district administration. Tourists will get refund of the fees paid on-line for jungle safari. Jungle safari on weekdays will be normalised from Tuesday. District administration has appealed to citizens and tourists to adhere to COVID-19 norms.
