COMMISSIONER of Police Amitesh Kumar detained dreaded goon Sunny alias Manmeet Surendra Chauhan (22) from Imambada area under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Slumlords, Bootleggers, Drug-Offenders, Dangerous Persons, Video Pirates, Sand Smugglers and Persons Engaged in Black Marketing of Essential Commodities Act (MPDA) on Friday.

 

A resident of Kapla Basti, New Valmiki Nagar, Chauhan was involved in several crimes of serious nature including attempt-to-murder, extortion and riots. A number of cases were registered against him at Imambada, Sitabuldi, Rana Pratap Nagar, Kotwali and Beltarodi Police Stations. Despite initiating preventive action against him, he continued indulging in criminal activities. Finally, the City Police Chief booked Chauhan under MPDA and detained him at Central Jail.
