National Kayaking Canoeing Sprint Championship - Day 2
 
 
The players of Madhya Pradesh Water Sports Academy bagged 18 medals including thirteen gold, three silver and two bronze medals on day-2 of the 31st National Kayaking Canoeing Sprint Championship 2021 held Lower Lake in Bhopal on Sunday.
 
The paddlers of State Academy won these medals in different events of 500 metre race. A gold medal each was bagged by Devvrat Singh (K-1 event), Nitin Verma and Sonu Verma (K-4), Neeaj Verma (C-2), Devendra Sen and Sonu Verma (C-4), Astha Dangi (K-2), Astha and Niharika Jaiswal (K-2), Kaveri Dheemar (C-1), Kaveri and Shivani Verma (C-2), Kaveri and Shivani Verma (C-4), Shivani (C-1), Shivani Verma (Mixed C-2), and by Akshit Borai (C-2 mixed event). Similarly, a bronze medal each was clinched by Balveer Jat and Akshit Borai (K-2 event), Nitin Verma (K-1), and Himanshu Tandon and Devraj Singh (K-4). Academy’s Sachin Sen and Astha Verma (C-2), Shivkanya Verma, Neha Chaubey and Khushi Verma (K-4) grabbed a bronze medal each.
 
Minster for Sports and Youth Welfare Yashodhara Raje Scindia has expressed happiness and has congratulated all the medal winners. She appreciated the efforts of the players they had put in to win these medals. She added that the players of State Water Academy have proved that even the coronavirus pandemic cannot deter them from performing better at competitions. Director, Sports and Youth Welfare Pawan Jain said that the players continued their medal winning spree and have grabbed 13 more medals in this national championship, which is a matter of pride for the state.
