Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has directed to strictly follow all the vigilant measures for prevention and containment of COVID-19 infection in State. Addressing a high-level meeting held at his chamber in Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said that strict compliance to the guidelines for prevention of COVID-19 should be ensured.
 
The CM said that there has been a sharp rise in the number of COVID cases in various cities of Maharashtra including Delhi, Mumbai, hence all District Collectors should be alerted and directed to ensure testing arrangements at the airport and the inter-state borders, especially at Maharashtra border. Arrangements for COVID tests should also be made in hospitals and fines should be imposed on those who do not wear masks in public places. He further said that frequent announcements should be made at public places, asking people to wear masks, observe physical distance and wash hands from time to time. The Chief Minister has also directed the officials concerned to arrange for temperature checks in public places. By ensuring compliance to these preventive measures, we have succeeded in containment of COVID infection to a great extent, and now in future as well, we would successfully prevent and contain coronavirus infection by ensuring strict compliance to the preventive measures.
 
The meeting was attended by Health Minister T S Singhdeo, Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Subrat Sahoo, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Renu G Pillay, Director of National Health Mission Dr Priyanka Shukla, Director Health Neeraj Bansod and other senior officials were present. Health Minister T S Singhdeo said that screening of passengers arriving at airport has already started. He said that spike in COVID cases have been found in Durg, Rajnandgaon and Raipur districts.
