Chhattisgarh Power Transmission Company Ltd (CSPTCL) is making high level efforts towards strengthening its infrastructure not only in urban areas but it is also strengthening the same in far flung rural areas as well. In compliance with the Power Policy of the state government and through the high level efforts made through well planned action, the newly constructed 132KV Distributed Control System (DCSS) Gerwani-Gharghoda EHT transmission line was energized by the CSPTCL successfully.
 
Giving the said information, CSTPCL MD Ashok Kumar said with the energization of this transmission line laid at a cost of Rs 14.3 crore, quality power supply can be ensured with proper voltage in forested areas like Jashpur, Pathalgaon, Batauli, etc. CSPTCL MD Ashok Kumar further informed that the laying of this 25 kms long EHT transmission line has been completed on labour contract basis. He said topographical configuration of Jashpur and its adjoining areas include mountains, hillocks, rivers, jungles. Laying EHT lines through these intensive forested and mountain zones is a challenging work, which was completed by the officials and employees of CSPTCL through their work efficiency.
 
This has taken the network of EHT transmission lines in the state to 12,823 Kms. CSPTCL MD Kumar further added that in order to strengthen the transmission infrastructure in the state, maintenance, monitoring and operations of four decades old EHT substations are being carried out with priority. This has taken the availability of transmission infrastructure in the state to 99.93 per cent while the transmission loss in the state has come down by 3.09 per cent to 2.96 percent. This proves that apart from supplying quality power, an advanced infrastructure has been developed.
