Khushi Dabhade, star player of Madhya Pradesh State Fencing Academy, will represent India at the World Fencing Championship to be held at Kazan, Russia, from March 19 to 23. Khushi was selected for the World Cup on the basis of her ranking by the Fencing Association of India for her brilliant performance in national fencing competitions. She will showcase her talent in Fencing EP Event. Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare Yashodhara Raje Scindia congratulated Khushi for her selection in Indian team for the World Cup.
 
Minister Scindia said that the daughters in the State are displaying talent at national and international competitions and are bringing laurels for Madhya Pradesh. We are proud of our daughters, she added. Who is Khushi Dabhade? Khushi comes from a lower-middle class family as her father, Babarao Dabhade, is an OT attendant at a private hospital. Babarao said that he was very very happy that his daughter has been chosen to represent team India at the World Cup. Chief Coach of Fencing Academy Bhoopendra Singh said that Khushi is a very talented player. She trains with utmost dedication and never misses her training.
 
She will surely succeed in international competitions, he added. It is Khushi’s dream to represent India in the Asian and Olympics games and to give her country a medal. Khushi has so far won ten medals including two gold, two silver and six bronze in the national fencing competitions for Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, she has clinched 11 gold and 3 silver medals in State-level competitions.
