Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan virtually dedicated 100 new and well-equipped kitchen centres in the State under Deendayal Antyodaya Rasoi Yojana at Minto Hall in Bhopal on Friday. He said that food, clothing, shelter, education and medicine are basic needs. Kitchen centres are useful for labourers and others who come to cities leaving behind their villages to fend for themselves and their children. Scheme that started from year 2017 should be extended. Apart from district headquarters of state, major religious tours have been added to town plan. Apart from this, kitchen centres started in other towns and cities should also be expanded. This will be an important step for humanity.
 
He said that Madhya Pradesh Government had made food arrangements for migrant labourers passing through Madhya Pradesh from one place to another even during the Corona period. He also dedicated the portal created for scheme through which regular and continuous supervision of the scheme will be possible. Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh, Minister of State OPS Bhadoria, Principal Secretary, Urban Development and Housing, Nitesh Vyas, Commissioner Urban Administration Nikunj Shrivastava, Tourism Minister Usha Thakur, MLA Krishna Gaur etc were present on this occasion. Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana at a glance: Under scheme, 56 kitchen centres were started in 51 district headquarters since year 2017. At that time, arrangements were made to provide thalis for Rs 5. At present, urban bodies and voluntary organisations have made arrangements to implement the scheme for 310 days of the year. Under this, roti, sabji, dal, rice will be supplied in the thali from 10 am to 3 pm for Rs 10 from Monday to Saturday. Seasonal green vegetable will also be served in the thali. In the first phase of the scheme more than 1.42 crore thalis have been served to the poor. The State Government has sanctioned an amount of Rs 28 crore for setting up and operating new kitchen centres. These centres have been started in cities around bus stands, railway stations and district hospitals. The facility of searching these centres with the help of Google Map has also been started.
