The Army Commander congratulated all the awardees and recipients of unit citations. He exhorted all ranks to emulate awardees and give their best in all spheres
 
 
“Courage of Indian soldiers in clash with Chinese Army at LAC proved that the country will never compromise its land on border areas. Both the armies are moving from LAC but the incident has demonstrated might of the Indian Army against China,” said Lieutenant General IS Ghuman, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Command. Lt Gen IS Ghuman was addressing Central Command Investiture Ceremony 2021 at Hoshiyar Singh PVC Ground, The Grenadiers Regimental Centre, on Saturday. The Army Commander while speaking at the ceremony congratulated all the awardees and recipients of unit citations.
 
He exhorted all ranks to emulate awardees and give their best in all spheres and keep the Indian Army’s flag flying high at all times. He said that it is the proudest day that investiture ceremony was organised in Jabalpur. It is a day to pay gratitude to the Jawans, Veer Naris, colleagues and friends for their dedicated services to the nation. GOC Madhya Bharat Area and his entire team dedicatedly worked for the prestigious event. Lt Gen Ghuman specially welcomed Veer Naris Rita Kumari, wife of martyr Naik Raviranjan Kumar Singh and Rashmi Yadav, wife of martyr Sipahi Rohit Kumar Yadav and said that the sacrifice of their families is significant for the country.
 
He assured the families of martyrs that the nation will ensure their welfare for entire life. He assured veterans that ECHS and CSD Canteen services will be soon improved while stations are being catered with better facilities. During the function, Lieutenant General IS Ghuman, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Command felicitated officers and other ranks with gallantry and distinguished service awards.
 
These officers and other ranks had been felicitated for various acts of gallantry in the face of enemy, as well as exceptional devotion to duty and service to the nation. The awards presented included 20 Sena Medals (Gallantry), two Sena Medals (Distinguished), eight Vishist Seva Medals and one Yudh Seva Medal. The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief also bestowed ‘Central Command Unit Citation’ to 15 units for their meritorious and outstanding performance.
