State Energy Minister and Guardian Minister of Nagpur district Dr Nitin Raut on Saturday warned the citizens of tough steps to contain the graph of the growing number of Covid-19 cases. “Being a Guardian Minister, it is my duty to save the lives of citizens. Therefore, tough steps will be taken if the positive cases of COVID-19 will increase in the city,” said Dr Raut. Dr Raut on Saturday took stock of lockdown enforced in city and district for two days. While addressing mediapesons at Variety Square, Dr Raut said that the market and other commercial establishments had been closed for two days after observing a growing number of Covid-19 cases.
 
“We are ready to take all tough steps to save the lives of citizens from the novel coronavirus,” he said and appealed to citizens to maintain social distancing, wear masks and wash hands regularly.“New strain has not been traced in city but strain is active in city invisibly. As a result, rate of infection is increasing across the city,” he claimed. Guardian Minister also praised NMC and Police Department for the bandobast and added that arrangements have been made for students attending competitive examinations. Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar was present during the interaction.
