‘Work to regularise illegal colonies should be done timely’

Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh has instructed that necessary process for regularisation of illegal colonies should be completed timely. Singh also asked to send the proposal for implementation of National Urban Livelihood Mission in newly constituted 29 local bodies. Singh was reviewing the departmental schemes at Mantralaya on Tuesday. Singh also instructed to rope in labour and social justice department in operation of Deendayal Kitchen Centers. Singh also instructed that number of centers should be also increased.
 
Moreover, Singh asked for better arrangements in night shelter homes and insisted on proper cleaning on daily basis. Commissioner Urban Administration and Development Nikunj Shrivastava informed that for constant monitoring of Deendayal Kitchen Centers and Night Shelter Homes, one portal is being prepared. In 51 district headquarters and in urban bodies with more than one lakh population, as many as 119 night shelter homes are functional. Meanwhile, Minister Singh underlined the need for modification in building permission rules.
 
He directed to study the system of Municipal Corporations of other states and go for necessary amendments in rules. He vouched for use of Information Technology to provide facilities to citizens in smooth manner. He directed to repair the roads in quality manner which were dig for laying pipelines of sewage and water supply. It was informed in the meeting that roads upto 450 km in length have been repaired so far. The remaining work of repairing the roads will be completed by month end. Singh also instructed to complete incomplete works of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
