Online portal for registration in Madhya Pradesh Tourism’s Home Stay Scheme was launched by Minister of Tourism, Culture and Spirituality, Usha Thakur on Tuesday. Shivshekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary, Tourism and Culture and Sonia Meena, Additional Managing Director was also present in the launch program. Minister Thakur said that Home Stay Scheme can helpto create employment at the local level and provide opportunity to middle-income families to connect with the rapidly growing tourism business.
 
The means of registration and the online portal prepared for registration was an important step in the direction of good governance. Currently physical applications are being received from interested property owners for registration of units. In order to facilitate the increasing number of applicants in future and to make registration easier, online registration system has been created, for this a homestay portal has been created by MP online through which self interested person or through MP online from their place .
Apart from registration through online portal, booking information of registered units located in the state, information of homes available in the state will be available at a glance, detailed information of all the schemes and questions can be asked before and after registration. Innovative efforts are being made by Madhya Pradesh tourism to provide domestic and foreign tourists a new tourism experience in the State, Homestay policies have been implemented to provide alternative accommodation (Alternate Accommodation) to the tourists. The purpose of Home stay Schemes is to provide tourists with the experience of Indian culture, traditions and catering etc., to provide clean and affordable accommodation for tourists and travelers, to increase the number of guest rooms in the state and to create employment opportunities at the local level.
