Test of pesticide quantity in edible items and metals, which are harmful for health, is being done at State food test laboratory
 
 
Health Minister Dr Prabhuram Chaudhary inspected Idgah Hills-based State Food laboratory in the State capital on Wednesday. He said that now test of pesticide quantity in edible items and metals, which are harmful for health, is being done at State food test laboratory.
 
He informed that with help of modern machines, now test of pesticides in edible items, quantity of harmful chemicals and metals etc has started at State food laboratory. Talking about State Government drive against adulteration, he said that under the campaign, more than 8,000 samples were received at State Food Laboratory and test report of more than 5,411 samples was issued. Of them, more than 500 samples were found to be sub-standard. He also informed that even by mobile food test lab, more than 24,000 samples were tested. Under the campaign, ‘Milawat Se Mukti’, 65,536 surveillance samples were taken.
 
Moreover, edible material of Rs 7 crore was seized from adulterators and NSA action was taken against 28 adulterators. Cases were registered against 204 adulterators and 94 installations were sealed for selling adulterated items. Fine of around Rs 4 crore was imposed on adulerators. He also informed that even drug lab is being equipped with modern machines. Modern machines costing around Rs 10 crore is shortly going to be installed there. He also spoke to officers and told that such message should go among people that strict punishment will be given to adulterators. But no problem should be allowed to come in the way of those who are doing business honestly.
