West Central Railway (WCR) Jabalpur zone General Manager Shailendra Singh visited Habibganj Railway Station on Wednesday to check redevelopment work. He inspected the construction work in main building, circulating area, covered over platform, concourse area, FOB, lighting arrangement, passengers facility etc. Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Uday Borwanker and IRSDC officials were also present during the visit. He discussed pending works with officials and showed satisfactory remarks over construction work.

 

He also asked officials to complete the work in deadline so that inauguration can be done in March. He told officials to make best efforts for inauguration of station on March 31. He also visited Habibganj carriage and wagon washing depot and inaugurated newly constructed building and bio-laboratory. He also checked maintenance and safety equipment in the depot. As the GM was happy to see working process and better arrangement at washing depot, he announced group awards. He also visited third line construction work from Barkehda to Budhni on Bhopal-Itarsi track. This is the ghat section park.

 

Construction of third line is significant for Railway as it is affecting operation of trains. The station is being redeveloped as world class under PPP mode. 100 per cent structure work of the station has been completed and currently company is developing parking area and finishing works. GM Singh will be inspecting construction work. Habibganj Railway Station will be a world class station by March end. The redevelopment project under PPP mode has set up benchmark and learning model for other railway stations. Even booking for office space, shops, commercial lobby has been started by the concerned company.
