CM Baghel demands to withdraw cess on petrol and diesel introduced in Budget
 
 
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel addressed two public meetings in poll-bound Assam on Sunday. Baghel is on two-day visit to Assam. Baghel accompanied by All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary for Assam and Raipur West MLA Vikas Upadhyay reached Rowroia Airport, Jorhat in Assam by a special plane on Sunday. Senior observer for Assam and senior Congress leader Baghel participated in a public meeting at Boy’s High School field, Amguri town of Sivasagar district in Assam, where he addressed a public meeting. Baghel addressed another public meeting at Domor Dolong TE in Charaideo district of Assam.
 
Baghel also participated in a training programme of the Congress party. Talking to mediapersons at Swami Vivekananda Airport before leaving for Assam, the Chief Minister said that he will be campaigning in the poll bound Assam and participate in the Congress party’s programmes. Baghel said that the Congress party had registered a landslide victory in Chhattisgarh in 2018 assembly elections. The Congress party has made alliances with six other political parties and now they have come forward to fight united against the BJP in Assam.
 
Baghel said that the alliance will dethrone BJP and the party will form the next government in Assam. Baghel also demanded that cess on petrol and diesel introduced in the Union Budget should be withdrawn as it would fuel further inflation. Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) Vice-President Atal Shrivastava, Political Advisor to Chief Minister Vinod Verma, CPCC’s Communication Department Chairman Shailesh Nitin Trivedi and other Congress leaders have accompanied the Chief Minister to Assam.
