Dr Amin listed among World’s top 2% most-cited scientists

International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Naya Raipur has once again made the State of Chhattisgarh proud. Dr Ruhul Amin, an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering of the Institute, has been listed among the World’s top 2% most-cited scientists in a recently released list by the US-based prestigious Stanford University. The exhaustive list has 1,59,683 persons with 1,492 scientists, doctors and engineers from India. This large database created by experts at Stanford University is based on data from Scopus that ranks journals in various disciplines and gives a citation index. It includes the top 2 percent of scientists of the world from different fields on the basis of standardized citation indications.
 
These include information on the number of citations, H-Index, co-authorship and a composite indicator. A majority of the Indians who have found a place in the list are from IITs, IISc and other top institutes of the country, representing fields like biology, chemistry, physics, material sciences, engineering disciplines, agriculture, energy and others. Dr Amin is listed in the field of Networking & Telecommunication. Dr Amin has published more than 75 research papers in Journals and Conference Proceedings of International repute in just 5 years of his professional career. He has served as a reviewer for many reputed International Journals and Conferences.
 
He is also an Associate Editor of the reputed journal ‘Security and Privacy’ published by Wiley. His primary research interest lies in the area of Cryptography and Information Security. He also researches in the area of application of Blockchain technology to various fields like internet of vehicles, supply chain management system, wireless sensor network, among others. “I am highly honoured that I am part of this coveted list. It’s a privilege that so many Indian professors have made it to the top.
 
This shows that India is becoming a soft power when it comes to research,” said Dr Amin. “It is a matter of great pride for the faculty, staff and students of our institute that one of our faculty members has found place in this coveted list. Dr Amin has brought laurels to the institute with this recognition and we heartily congratulate him for the same,” said Dr Pradeep Kumar Sinha, the Vice-Chancellor & Director of IIIT, Naya Raipur. Dr Amin received his Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad, India and is associated with IIIT, Naya Raipur since August 2017.
