THE Physical Education and Sports Department of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) recently felicitated women sportspersons and coaches, who excelled in their respective sports, on the occasion of International Women's Day. The function was held at the sports complex of RTMNU, Ravi Nagar. The sportspersons and coaches were felicitated by Urmila Dabir, Management Council Member. Dr Vishakha Joshi, Sports Council Member presided over the programme.
 
Dr Madhvi Mardikar, Director, Post Graduate Teachers Department, was the chief guest, while former international handball player and Shiv Chhatrapati award winner Bhavna Bhotmange was the special guest. On the occasion badminton coaches Pravina Varghese, Priya Deshpande, former international long distance runner and Shiv Chhatrapati award winner Vaishali Chatare, long distance medal winner Mitali Bhoyar and Bhavyashree Mahalle, blind swimmer Ishwari Pandey, karate coach Megha Nimje, international yoga player and coach Dhanashree Lekurwale, Devyani Donge, international fencer Harsha Damkondwar, international gymnasts and coaches Prachi Parkhi and Pranali Khandar, sports organiser Babita Sharma, Usha Dhak and Nagpur District Athletics Association’s joint secretary Archana Kottewar were felicitated. Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Physical Education and Sports Department, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University made introductory remark while Dr Kumud Charmode conducted the programme and Dr Meena Balpande proposed a vote of thanks. Dr Baby Tambe, Dr Kumkum Boratkar, Dr Nilima Waghmare, Dr Ashlesha Ingle, Dr Amruta Pande and others were also present on the occasion.
