Poonam to lead Mah handball squad

CITY’S Poonam Kadav has been named captain of Maharashtra State handball team which will take part in 49th Senior Women National Handball Championship to be held at Bareilly (UP) from March 17 to 21, informs Dr Sunil Bhotmange, Secretary, Nagpur District Handball Association.
 
Another city player Karishma Dhurve is also part of the squad. Poonam and Karishma are students of Sharirik Shikshan Mahavidyalaya, Koradi and are members of Nagpur District Handball Association. Both players take regular training at Yashwant Stadium under the watchful eyes of Shiv Chhatrapati awardee Dr Bhotmange and Pankaj Kothari. NDHA President Dr Babanrao Taywade, Sitaram Bhotmange, Prof Vijay Barse, ex-mayors Atal Bahadur Singh, Kundatai Vijaykar, Sandeep Joshi, Vipin Kamdar, Atul Durugkar, Atamaram Pande, Milind Makde, Roopkumar Naidu, Deputy Director of Sports and Youth Services Avinash Pund, Adv Sachin Sambre congratulated Poonam and Karishma.
