Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “Every single grain of wheat of farmers will be purchased. All arrangements for wheat procurement have been ensured in advance in all districts.” To ensure that farmers do not face any problem, extensive arrangements will be made and all necessary facilities will be made available at procurement centres. Timely harvest of farmers’ crops and payment after procurement should be ensured.
 
He said, “No payments of farmers should be stopped. Arrangements should also be made for immediate transportation of the procured crop.” He informed that all arrangements for procurement of wheat on support price are being made on priority basis in State. In Indore and Ujjain divisions, wheat procurement work will be started from March 22 and from April 1 in remaining divisions. He informed that farmers have been registered for wheat procurement. Date of registration has been extended twice so that no farmer is deprived of the registration facility.
 
He informed that during coronavirus period last year, number of procurement centres was increased for convenience of farmers. This time, arrangement of procurement has been made at 4763 centers. Suitable arrangements are also being made for farmers at all procurement centres. He appealed farmers that they can bring their wheat to procurement centres without any hesitation. Government will buy every single grain of wheat from all farmers. This time procurement price is estimated at 125 lakh metric tonnes of wheat. So far, 24.58 lakh farmers have registered for wheat procurement. This time support price of wheat will be Rs 1,975 per quintal. Last year, it was Rs 1,925 per quintal.
